Originally from Kansas City, I am a Certified Commercial Investment Member with 30 years’ experience in property management (multi-family, mixed-use, office, retail, affordable), asset management and brokerage.
I started my career as a Property Manager for a full-service, real-estate company specializing in the restoration of historic properties in Kansas City’s urban core. Over the course of the next 18 years, I worked my way up through the company to become the Executive Vice President.
For the following eight years, I worked in the privatized, military housing industry to include Fort Riley Army Base in Kansas and Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington. While at JBLM, I served as Managing Director overseeing all aspects of property management and development and all interactions with military partners.
Most recently, I served as Director of Property Management designing and implementing the vertical integration of a property-management platform for a privately owned, real-estate investment firm in Seattle, Washington. I also served as a Director of Asset Management responsible for relationship management of company’s third party, property-management vendors.
I am a proactive and goal-oriented leader with experience performing a wide range of people-management functions, including goal setting, performance appraisal, training, competency building, resource utilization and capacity planning.
I inspire team members to perform by providing opportunities for open and honest, two-way communication and constructive feedback. I encourage team collaboration and believe in the sharing of ideas and benchmarking of one another’s strengths for team success.
I believe mentoring employees offering ample training often to succeed at their job and to encourage individual growth and build employee morale.
